St Ives

Suburb Profile

Overview

White picket fences, backyard barbeques and weekend sports – this nostalgic, elegant neighbourhood is the stuff of fairy tales. Seemingly worlds away, the quiet and affluent streets of St Ives and St Ives Chase border the rugged bushland of two national parks and are within cooee of Sydney’s vibrant CBD.

Lifestyle

St Ives is a place where picture-book homes and manicured gardens meet the Australian bush. This affluent North Shore suburb is all about families – elegant streets and rural undertones.

At times, St Ives may seem like it’s off the beaten track, but with easy access to the Northern Beaches and major business hubs, locals can choose to be in the action on a whim. With a shopping precinct, golf facilities and prestigious schools on hand, locals have everything they need right on their doorstep.

On weekends, families are out in full force, ferrying their children to and from sports at the multi-use green spaces throughout the area. Locals never tire of the network of walking, cycling and horse-riding trails in Garigal National Park and Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park.

But where St Ives lacks in urban vibrancy and nightlife, it more than makes up for in the large, stately homes with backyard pools and the odd tennis court.

The Market

Beautiful period, Hamptons and Federation homes with manicured gardens line St Ives’ streets. Many have been well maintained, others impeccably restored and most feature modern add-ons. Although there are new developments sprouting up around the village and further afield, these don’t detract from the enviable estate-style homes.
