Located just two kilometres west of the Brisbane CBD, Paddington is a trendy and picturesque suburb thanks to its rolling hills and leafy streets. It attracts professionals, students and young families.
The area is known for its thriving dining and shopping scene. Paddington Central is the main mall, while Caxton Street, Given Terrace and Latrobe Terrace are lined with specialty shops, restaurants and cafes. The Paddington Antique Centre attracts visitors from all over, as does the Paddington Tavern, which hosts the famous Sit Down Comedy Club. Paddington is also sports-oriented, and home to top-notch facilities like Suncorp Stadium and Q Sport.
There are a handful of schools in the immediate area, such as Petrie Terrace State School and West End State School, and dozens more within a five-kilometre radius. The University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology and Red Hill TAFE campuses are nearby. Paddington boasts a number of public spaces, like Neal Macrossan Park, Gregory Park and Trammies Corner Park.
While walking is a popular and easy way to get around, there are also excellent public transport options. A few bus routes run through the suburb, including the CityGlider express service to the CBD, and the Milton Train Station is mere minutes away.
