A thriving centre that gives way to leafy streets and sprawling parklands, and all only moments away from Botany Bay and Georges River – Kogarah is truly in a league of its own. Located south of Sydney, in the St George region, Kogarah has a lot to offer, from its world-class medical facilities to the famed Jubilee Stadium to an impressive line-up of schools. And at the heart of it all is an all-embracing multicultural community.
Kogarah is teeming with small businesses, cafes, eateries and restaurants – all of which reflect the area’s diversity. The award-winning Kogarah Town Square houses the local library and cultural centre, while the expansive medical precinct – St George Hospital and St George Private – caters to the broader community. Established private and public schools are in abundance, and there is no shortage of parkland, which includes Jubilee Stadium, the home ground for the much-loved rugby league team, St George Illawarra Dragons.
Down the road is Hurstville, a major shopping and entertainment spot for the area, and alongside Kogarah, provides greater connectivity to the entire St George region through the train and bus network. Kogarah Train Station will have you into the heart of Sydney CBD in under 30 minutes, the international and domestic airports are under 20 minutes away, and when you need to escape it all, the shores of Botany Bay and waters of Georges River are down the road.
Families of all shapes and sizes are drawn to the area, in part for the schools and access to great public transport, and in part for the double brick abodes that line quiet streets. And although low-density apartments have their place here, they do little to detract from the established homes that have long been in the area.
