CEO update: What we’re doing to keep clients safe and business running
I wanted to take a moment to share with our most valued clients, communities and colleagues what Belle Property and Hockingstuart are doing in response to COVID-19.
First and foremost, our priority is the health and wellbeing of our staff and clients.
This means, while we are operating as normal, including scheduling auctions, conducting open homes and marketing and managing property, there are several precautions we have implemented across our network to ensure we are operating within the guidelines set by the Australian Government. These include:
Implementing safe open home practices, such as providing hand sanitiser, refraining from shaking hands and encouraging distance between people while they are viewing homes.
Encouraging our offices, staff and teams to work from home if and when they can, to allow for social distancing.
Encouraging our agents and offices to undertake phone, video or online meetings rather than face-to-face.
Conducting questionnaires about client/tenant health before conducting routine property inspections, or postponing routine inspections all together.
I want to reassure our clients and communities that our business is operating as normal, and we are still here to help in the facilitation of buying and selling property.
Our business is agile, and already has the tools and technology to allow for business to take place wherever our customers are comfortable. Every property can be accessed online, private appointments can be scheduled, and if the situation progresses, further technology and tools will be implemented to allow business to continue.
Although we all have our part to play to ensuring we limit the spread of the virus and help our health services to cope by “flattening the curve”, we are still focussed on ensuring our clients achieve the best outcomes for their homes and their future.
We continue to see positive auction results and strong activity in the property market, so I encourage you to still attend open homes and auctions and remain in regular contact with your local real estate agent – as well as many of your other local businesses.
We all need each other’s support and we will see each other through to the other side.
