With stage three restrictions back into effect in Melbourne and some surrounding suburbs, the local property market is transitioning smoothly back to digital and online property services, with positive results still coming out of the state.
“The great news is, we are seeing buyer and seller confidence remain steady during this second round of restrictions in Melbourne,” says Peter Hanscomb, CEO of Belle Property and Hockingstuart.

With five weeks of restrictions still to come for those in Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, here, we look at the transition back to online and what this means for buyers and sellers in these areas.
What restrictions mean for buyers
From last Wednesday 8 July, public on-site auctions have been banned as well as open homes returning to one-on-one, private inspections only.
“Although stay at home orders are in place, if you’re looking to buy, you can still access a multitude of online and virtual options on website property listings, or you can reach out to your local agent to find out more about one-on-one private viewings,” says Peter.
What restrictions mean for sellers
If you are already in the process of selling or were thinking of selling soon, there are plenty of options to assist in your sale campaign.
“Online auctions have become a very normal part of real estate services and our agents are well versed in private inspections, so if you were looking to sell, rest assure that your property will be viewed safely and you can still achieve your goals,” says Peter.
